HNC Childhood Practice (Year 2) - Evening

This is year two of a two year part-time programme aimed at those who wish to gain employment as an early learning and childcare practitioner. Students who have completed year one will continue attending college on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and undertaking their day-time placement. Successful completion of this course provides the necessary qualifications for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council at practitioner level.

The qualification has been identified as appropriate for early education and childcare practitioners and successful completion of the course will enable applicants to seek employment to work with children, in a range of public and private settings and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at practitioner level.

Course places are only secured after payment/funding has been arranged.  

As per the College Tuition Fees and Refund Policy, tuition fees are non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances. Refer to our Tuition Fee Refund and Withdrawal Procedure on the College website. 


Student Paying 
Fees of less than £150 must be paid in full. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is £150 or greater. You can access a direct debit form here
Instalments must be paid via direct debit over a 4-month period and an initial 30% deposit is required in order to secure your place. You will not be able to apply online if paying by direct debit please contact Evening Admissions - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk.  


Employer Paying 
If your employer is paying for your tuition fees, an Employers Agreement Form or letter from your employer must be submitted prior to or on enrolment. You can access the Employer Agreement Form here. We ask that you complete the Employer Agreement Form and return via email to -eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk


Fee Waiver 
You may be eligible for a fee waiver for your course if you meet the eligibility criteria which includes certain benefits such as Universal credit. Please click here to view the fee waiver document checklist which gives a list of the eligible benefits. Proof of these benefits must be submitted before a fee waiver can be processed.

Part-time Fee Grant 
If you are aged 16 or over, living in Scotland and earn £25,000 a year or less you can access a Part-time Fee Grant from the Scottish Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). The level of funding is dependent on the number of credits studied (for HNC level and above). 
 
You can apply and access the full eligibility criteria via the part-time funding section of the SAAS website at: www.saas.gov.uk. Before you apply you will need information such as the course you will be attending and the number of SCQF credits for your course. This information can be provided by emailing: PTFG@forthvalley.ac.uk
 
If successful, a letter of award will be issued which will include how much funding you have been awarded.
