Introduction to Complementary and Holistic Therapies – Evening

This introductory course provides insight into different types of complementary therapies and the holistic theories and practices they draw on.

From traditional Chinese medicine to Indian Ayurveda teachings, you will explore how these principles align with the practical application of key massage techniques such as Marma Therapy and Indian Head Massage and how to give a basic treatment to friends and family. Providing the perfect taster and grounding for anyone considering a full-time massage course or career in the wellness industry. There is no formal assessment or qualification achieved however candidates will receive a Forth Valley College certificate upon completion.

  • Differences between Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda
  • Chakra and Meridian pathways
  • Massage for the mind, body and spirit
  • Contraindications and considerations for safe practice
  • Aftercare advice

In order to maximise your practical massage application, please:

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and flat shoes/trainers
  • Remove all jewellery (except wedding band if applicable)
  • Ensure fingernails are short and clean

Course places are only secured after payment/funding has been arranged.

Student Paying

Fees of less than £150 must be paid in full. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is £150 or greater. You can access a direct debit form here.

Employer Paying

If your employer is paying for your tuition fees, an Employers Agreement Form or letter from your employer must be submitted prior to or on enrolment. You can access the Employer Agreement Form here.
