SVQ1 Sport and Active Leisure
This is a vocational based course which provides students with the opportunity to operate within a live working sports and fitness environment, whilst also studying relevant units within leisure facility operations. This is an ideal course for candidates who wish to get a first step into leisure/sports facility management and combine their studies with practical work experience.
Please note, there will be a requirement for candidates to work across all of Forth Valley College's campus gyms in Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa as part of their work experience.
- Leisure Assistant within public and private sports and fitness centres.
Upon successful completion of this course students would be eligble to apply for progression onto the following course:
- NQ Sport & Fitness (SCQF Level 5)
Mandatory:
- Attendance at a group based course information and Q&A session.
- Clear Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check required. Further information on the PVG Scheme will be issued to successful applicants prior to enrolment.
- Strong interest and current participation within Sport & Fitness related activites
Plus one of the following:
- Two National 4 awards (or equivalent) preferably English and PE.
Additional Requirements:
- All students will be expected to purchase materials required for course study including practical activity clothing
- Students must be able to access transportation to the College's Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa Campuses for work placement purposes
