HND Events Management Students hosted a sell-out charity Murder Mystery event at Forth Valley College’s Stirling Campus recently, and were found guilty of organising an excellent night of hospitality and entertainment.

The Kildean Suite was the venue on the evening of Thursday 9 May as guests flocked to the ‘gangsters and molls’ themed event, organised and hosted by the eager and enthusiastic Events Management students, who were: Kirstie Duncan, Deborah Jamieson, Jennifer Prieto Matas and Danielle Stewart.

The event – which involved role performances from members of the Walking Theatre Company - included a set three course menu and costs £30 per person attending, with some of the money raised being donated to the Scottish Action for Mental health (SAMH) charity.

Second Year HND Photography student David chapman, was also on hand to take some pictures of guests arriving at the event.

Student Kirstie Duncan, said: “The event went better than we ever imagined. The Walking Theatre Company blew their performances out the park and we could not have asked for a better reception from our attendees, especially those who came dressed up. A massive thank you to Mandy Fraser and her Thursday evening class for creating a great menu, and the hospitality students who helped out too. We raised a massive £700 for charity and had the best time doing so.”

Lecturer Chris Nixon , said: “The HND Events Management students did a fantastic job and really put the theory into practice with this event. The event was a huge success all round and really emphasised the level of hard work and organisation from all members of the team.

“The feedback from the customers on the night was fantastic and I am so happy that the event was such a huge success, and the money raised for SAMH far exceeded our expectations.

“A massive congratulations to all involved!”
